Meet the Students of SH1 (Part 1)

Tommy Wu
Hi ! My name is Tommy and I live in Taichung. I was born on August 1st, 1993 and I’m 16 years old now. I have been learning English for seven years. Why do I want to learn English? Because I think it will be very useful in the future and it is the most used language on the Internet. My hobbies are to play the drums, play basketball and swim. At Chia Yang, my goal is to become good enough in English to be able to go study overseas in a university. There are two people in my family. There is my mom and me. Later, I would like to be a businessman and make money travelling around the world. But more importantly, I could buy my mom a bigger house, and she could stop working and being so tired all the time. I’m really happy to be studying at Chia Yang and I hope this school will help me to make my dreams come true.

Leslie Chen
Hello! My name is Leslie. I was born in America on November 24th, 1992, but my family moved back to Taiwan when I was only 1 year old. I didn’t get the chance to learn English, but I speak Chinese very well. Eventually, I would like to visit America since it is my country, and I don’t remember the time I spent there because I was too young. My family lives in Tainan now. My family is comprised of my father, my mother, my older brother, my older sister and me. I like monkeys, and I like to listen to music. My previous school was Feng Ho Junior High School in Liouying. Because I like to help people in need, I wish to become a doctor.

Kim Lin
Hello everyone! My name is Kim. Because I was born on February 28, 1993, I’m 16 years old. I’m from Taipei but, I study and live temporarily in Taichung County at school. Before studying at Chia Yang, I went to school at Nan-Shun High School in Taipei. There are four people in my family. There is my father, my mother, my older sister and me. I like to go shopping and sing songs in my free time. Pizza is my favourite food. In the future, I would like to be a doctor because it is a meaningful job, and Icould help sick people. I want to learn English because I find English interesting.

Betty Yao
Hi! My name is Betty, I’m 16 years old and I live in Chang Wa. There are four people in my family. There is my father, my mother, my younger sister and me. I like to listen to music when I feel sad. I love to drink green tea. It is my favourite drink, but I don’t like to eat cookies. In my free time, I like to go to the park with my friends. I’d like to make a long trip to Japan with my family. Before studying at Chia Yang, I went to school at Houjia in Tainan. In the future, I would like to be an English teacher because it seems to me that teaching is a fun job. I like to learn English. And since it is my favourite subject at school, I find it very interesting and exciting. I need to practice my English skills and get better at them in order to go abroad and read books.

Allan Chang
Hi! My name is Allan. I am 15 years old. There are three people in my family; there is my father, my mother and me. I was born in Taichung but now I live in Douliu. Before studying at Chia Yang, I went to school at Zhen Xin in Douliu. I like to swim, and I’m a lifeguard since June of this year. I am learning English because it is the language of the world. In the past, I studied in America and England. My biggest dream is to work for the Los Angeles Police Department in California.

Irene Chang
Hello! My name is Irene. I was born in Taichung on November 20th, 1992. Because I liked my junior high years at Chia Yang, I’m back for senior high. There are four people in my family. There is my father, my mother, my younger sister and me. I like to ride bicycle in my free time.
After finishing high school, I would like to go to France to study and become a great cook because I wish to be able to prepare good meals for everybody. I think that learning English is important because it will help me everywhere I want to go around the world.

Isaac Shiu
Hi! My name is Isaac. I’m 15 years old. I was born on December 25th, 1992 in Korea; I’m Korean. My family is composed of four people: my dad, my mom, my younger brother and me. Before studying at Chia Yang, I went to school at Xi Yuan Junior High School in Taichung City. I like to play badminton. Later, I want to become a pastor because my parents are both pastors.
I want to learn English because this language is used in most countries. If I can speak it well, I’ll be able to travel in a lot of them.

Kiki Chiang
My name is Kiki. I was born on June 29th, 1993. That makes me 16 years old now. There are five people in my family: there is my mother, my father, my younger sister, my younger brother and me. Before studying at Chia Yang, I went to school at Guang De in Taichung City. In the future, I would like to be a nurse because I want to help doctors to save lives. In my free time, I like to read and go to art museums because I love art. I think that learning English is useful because I want to be able to travel by myself.

Albert Hou
My name is Albert, I was born on October 10th, 1992. I am from Taichung. Before studying at Chia Yang High School, I went to Mingdao High School in Taichung. My family is composed of five people: my parents, my two older brothers and me. I like to play basketball, and my brothers usually play with me. In the future, I would like to become an actor because I wish to appear on TV and be famous. I think that learning English is important because it is a language used in many countries. My favourite country is the USA because it seems to me that there is more freedom there than in Taiwan.

Michelle Hsieh
Hi! My name is Michelle and I was born in Tainan. There are 5 people in my family. There are my parents, my older brother, my younger sister and me. Before studying at Chia Yang, I went to school at An Shoun Junior High School in Tainan. I had a happy life at that school. I like to play basketball and listen to music. When I am bored, I always listen to music by myself. I wish to visit Japan because I want to know more about the Japanese culture. I want to become a doctor because I would like to help sick people. I am learning English at Chia Yang because I want to travel around the world.

Jack Tong
Hi! My name is Jack and I’m 15 years old. I am from Taichung. Before studying at Chia Yang, I was a student at Dong Da Junior High School. My family is composed of 4 people: my parents, my older brother and me. I like to play basketball in my free time. I would like to become a businessman in the future, because I could make a lot of money and visit many countries. I want to learn English because I might need to speak it in my future job. I would like to go study in America because I think it would be very good for me to learn English there.
